The Saubagya Production Village Program was launched to promote home-based products, raising the income level of the rural community, uplifting the rural economy, and making a significant contribution to the national product, in order to realize the "Vision of Prosperity & Splendour" National policy Framework.

The production villages thus established are classified under 05 sectors.
Animal Husbandry
There are 80 villages island-wide operating to meet the local demand for milk, eggs and meat locally and to increase the income of the rural population by introducing value-added products to the market.

Facilitate for meeting the existing demand in the service sector while empowering communities.
Agriculture
The agricultural sector comprises fruits, vegetables, ornamental flowers, spices, export agricultural crops and value additions to increase the income of the rural community and increase contribution to the national GDP through increasing agricultural production.
